SDAN members who testified at senate hearing.  Their testimony included facts of cost efficiency and maximum return on investment for state funding.  It also stressed the need for hiring family as this assures maximum results and most benefits for participants.

Ed with his siblings Mary Lou and Scott. Mary Lou left her job after her parents died to care for her brother Ed. It is important to Ed that his siblings be compensated for the many extraordinary supports they provide to him.

Ed Little addresses the first DDA listening session on Self-Directed Services in Bowie on September 12.  He stated how important his ability to hire his sister and other family members is to his feeling of safety and security.  He requests that he continue to be allowed to have that CHOICE in how his services are provided and by whom.  He does not want to see any restrictions on self-directed services going forward as are included in DDA’s proposed changes to the Waiver in Amendment 2.
